Dave Chapelle recently teamed up with fellow celebrity comedians Bill Burr, Donnell Rawlings, Whitney Cummings, and Chris D’Elia to bring some aid to individuals in an industry hit hard by the coronavirus.
The comedians teamed up with the famous Comedy Store located on Sunset Blvd. to raise $100k to be donated to less fortunate comedic acts who are in stand-up.
They all participated in a 3 episode live on-camera podcast where each got the chance to spread laughter through their jokes. Dave Chappelle ended up making a surprise appearance on the last episodes and pretty much gave us the “Chapelle’s Show” we didn’t know we needed.
If you missed the live broadcasts Tuesday night, don’t worry, the episodes are now available on YouTube.
Fans who tuned in donated a total of $100,000! The money was directly given to The Comedy Store Family Funda which is a safety net for comics with ties to the venue, as well as staff.
