Black Lives Matter To Host Virtual Black National Convention In August!

With many people supporting and putting in work for the Black Lives Matter movement, it’s no surprise there is now an official convention in the works!
It been reported that Black Lives Matter will be holding an official National Black Convention that will be held virtually. The live broadcast is set to take place on August 28th.
The convention will reportedly focus on creating a new political agenda that will build upon the success seen with the recent protests. There will also be conversations, performances, and more incorporated into the broadcast with the hope of developing demands prior to the November 2020 presidential election.
The convention is being planned and held by the Electoral Justice Project of the Movement for Blackc Lives, which contains a combination of over 150 organizations. The head of the Electoral Justice Project, Jessica Byrd, said “What this convention will do is create a Black liberation agenda that is not a duplication of the Vision for Black Lives, but really is rooted as a set of demands for progress.”
The convention is scheduled to take place on the same day as the March On Washington that Al Sharpton announced at the memorial service for George Floyd.
