Louisville Announces Historic $12 Million Settlement To Be Given To Breonna Taylor’s Family!

Many people have protested and demanded that the police officers involved in the death of Breonna Taylor are arrested.
Well, although justice may not have been served in that manner yet, the family has reached a settlement of $12 million in a wrongful death lawsuit against the city of Louisville.
On Tuesday afternoon, the city’s mayor, Greg Fischer, made the announcement while Breonna’s family were also present.
The family did make it clear that this lawsuit has nothing to do with the justice we are all seeking in regards to the police officers and their criminal actions.
The settlement is actually the largest amount of money paid out by Louisville and is the largest settlement for an African American woman the country has seen.
In addition to the money the family received, the settlement included police reform. So, changes have been made to the process for approving and executing warrants, police drug and alcohol testing policies, and the addition of social workers on calls.
