Black History Month is full throttle and the Black Girl Magic is coming in STRONG!
That’s why it’s only right we recognize astronaut, Jessica Watson. According to NPR, Jessica is preparing to become the first Black woman to live and work on the International Space Station, for months. She is set to take off to space in April, under NASA’s Artemis program. As the newest space crew member member from the program, Jessica will be taking off in Elon Musk’s SpaceX capsule.
When asked in an interview, about this historic voyage, Watson said:
“I hope going to the space station will set an example for children of color, and particularly young girls of color, to be able to see an example of ways that they can participate and succeed.”
