There’s been a massive effort to bring rapper A$ap Rocky back to the United States, after being locked up in Sweden for weeks now. However, it looks like A$ap will have to remain in jail longer than anticipated, because he has now been charged with Assault Causing Actual Bodily Harm.
If convicted the rapper could spend up to 2 years in jail, but it has been reported that the prosecutor does not plan to recommend the full sentence. The prosecutor also revealed he will be pushing for the trial to start Tuesday and it is expected to last about 3 days. The other two members of A$ap’s team, who were involved in the altercation, have also received the same charge and will each have their own trial.
This all stems from an incident where Rocky was harassed for hours. After trying to diffuse the situation, the rapper engaged in a physical altercation with the harasser, alongside the two members of his crew.
The Swedish prosecutor has told news sources that he was able to access more information than people on the internet, including video and witnesses. He said his findings do not support the claims of self defense made by Rocky and his other 2 friends. However, it is clear the rapper was harassed before and did not initiate the fight.
