It may be cutting it close, seeing as though the Iowa Caucus is only 3 months away, but the Democrats officially have yet another candidate bidding in for 2020’s presidential race.
Last week, former Senator of Massachusetts, Deval Patrick, announced that he will be making a late but optimistic pursuit of winning the election. And optimistic it really is! Deval currently has very few staff and no financial backing, as of now, but he does believe that support and money will all come as time goes by.
The former governor does have quite an impressive resume, however. He was actually the first African American Governor to be elected in Massachusetts. Most recently, he served as a management director at a private equity firm, Bain Capital. In addition, Patrick has been news contributor on CBS, since September. He did, however, have to cut ties with both organizations once he announced his presidential ambition. There is one connection he doesn’t have to cut, though. In fact many believe it will actually help him, because the connection is to our forever President Barack Obama!
Running for President is no easy task especially when you enter the race late, but it looks like Deval Patrick is up for the challenge.
