Billboard 200 Now Officially Counting YouTube Plays Towards Album Rankings!

In an era where technology is constantly impacting our way of life, it’s no doubt that the way we listen to music and watch videos is at least a little different!
That’s why starting Jan. 3 Billboard is making some changes! It was recently announced that both video and audio data from YouTube will be factored into the Billboard 200 album chart, along with visual plays from officially licensed video content plays from Apple, Spotify, Tidal and Vevo.
It has been 5 years since Billboard has made a change like this, adding audio streams. That transformed the original chart, which only focused on album sales, to a consumption based model.
It was also announced that the addition of video will also impact Billboard’s genre album consumption charts, such as Country, R&B/Hip-Hop, Latin and others.
So what’s the verdict, are y’all feeling it?
