The verdict is in and a judge has finally brought an end to Tekashi 69’s controversial case.
Although many predicted the rapper would be set free on a time served sentence, the outcome wasn’t exactly what everyone was expecting. On Wednesday, Judge Engelmayer sentenced Tekashi to 24 months behind prison bars, despite his cooperation with the federal authorities.
Judge Engelmayer did recognize that Tekashi cooperation was great, but believes 13 months wouldn’t equate to the crimes he participated in.
Tekashi’s legal team, however, was banking on the early release request they submitted to be approved. Although Tekashi did not speak to media outlets, his father did take time to let everyone know that he now plans on being in his estranged son’s life. He also says he wants to participate in getting 69 on the right track.
