A former aide to Democratic presidential nominee, Joe Biden, has come forward with claims that he sexually assaulted her.
According to reports, Tara Reade worked for former Vice President Biden during the early 1990s, while he was a Senator. Tara alleges that during the spring of 1993, she was sexually assaulted by Joe Biden while in the basement of a Capitol Hill office building.
On Thursday, she filed a police report in Washington claiming she was the victim of a sexual assault by an unnamed person in 1993.
This isn’t the first time Tara Reade accused Joe Biden of sexual misconduct. Back in 2019, Tara claimed Biden inappropriately touched her, however she did not allege that she was sexually assault.
Biden’s deputy campaign manager and communication director Kate Bedingfield released a statement pointing out Biden’s work in passing the Violence Against Women Act also saying he has “dedicated his public life to changing the culture and the laws around violence against women.”
