As we all know, recent events have sparked protests and marches which are taking place not only in the United States but all over the world.
Well, it looks like protesters will have an opportunity to march in unity, this year.
Rev. Al Sharpton has announced that he is currently organizing a march in Washington, DC.
During his eulogy at George Floyd’s memorial service, the reverend revealed the march will take place on August 28th.
That’s not it, though. The civil rights leader began the announcement by saying, “On August 28th, the 57th anniversary of the March on Washington, we’re going back to Washington…”
Sharpton then went on to reveal that the march will be led by the families of black people who have died as a result of police brutality, including the Floyd family.
He proclaimed, the goal of the march is to “restore and recommit that dream (of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.)…We need to go back to Washington and stand up, Black, White, Latino, Arab, in the shadows of Lincoln and tell them this is the time to stop this.”
Will you all be headed to DC with your walking shoes?
