Whitney Houston has now earned her third diamond-certified album, making her the first black artist to reach the accomplishment.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, by the Recording Industry Association of America and Legacy Recordings. This now means “Whitney,” her 1985 self-titled album, and “The Bodyguard” have all sold over 10 million copies each.
That’s not the only note worthy accomplishment that Whitney has recently achieved. Her “I Will Always Love You” video has now reached over 1 billion views, which is the first time a music video from a ’90s solo artist has done so. Not to mention, on November 7th, Whitney will be posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame class of 2020.
