Cicely Tyson has served as an iconic figure in film and culture, which is why many people are mourning after confirmation that she has passed away.
On Thursday, Cicely Tyson’s manager confirmed that she died at the age of 96.
“I have managed Miss Tyson’s career for over 40 years, and each year was a privilege and blessing.” Her manager continued to say, “Cicely thought of her new memoir as a Christmas tree decorated with all the ornaments of personal and professional life. Today she placed her last ornament, a Star, on top of the tree.”
