Yet another video of police misconduct has gone viral.
This time a 66-year-old black librarian can be seen being pulled out of her car, by her hair, during a traffic stop. According to the body-cam footage, Stephanie Bottom, was on the way to a funeral when a Rowan County sheriff deputy attempted to pull her over for allegedly speeding.
Stephanie is now suing the city of Salisbury and the Rowan County Sheriff’s office. She says she suffered a torn rotator cuff, as a result of the incident, that made her unable to work for eight months. In the lawsuit, she also claims an officer “bragged about grabbing a handful of dreads’ and continued to allegedly say “at that point she earned it.”
Watch the body cam footage for yourself and leave your thoughts.
