Looks like we have another win for the culture! Sunday night, Zozibini Tunzi was crowned Miss Universe, after competing against 89 women from 6 continents.
\nTunzi now makes the 2nd Miss Universe to come out of South Africa in the last three years! She didn\u2019t just represent for South Africans, though. Zozibini won her title while promoting natural beauty and rocking her natural hair too!
\nThe 26-year-old took her final moments in the esteemed pageant to explain, \u201cI grew up in a world where a woman who looks like me \u2014 with my kind of skin and my kind of hair \u2014 was never considered to be beautiful.\u201d She continued to say \u201cI think it is time that that stops today. I want children to look at me and see my face and I want them to see their faces reflected in mine.”
\nThis now makes history as the first time Miss Universe, Miss USA, Miss America, and Miss Teen USA are all black! Now that\u2019s what we call black girl magic!
