It’s definitely been a long time coming, but all the chants and pleas to #FreeMeek have not gone in vain.
The Philly rapper is now a few man after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor gun charge. This brings an end to 12 years of legal troubles that’s kept Meek on probation for the majority of his life as an adult.
On Tuesday a Pennsylvania appeals court overturned the 32-year-old rapper’s gun and drug charges conviction streaming from an incident in 2007. However, since he has already served 2 years in prison for the charges, the judge did not make Meek serve any more time!
After leaving the courtroom, Meek spoke with his fans proclaiming “Meek free” and vowed to continue his fight for the reform movement.
