IKEA In Hot Water After Adding Jerk Chicken To The Menu; Issues An Apology

It’s usually a celebration when a company shows they are down with the culture, but for IKEA it looks like they shot their shot and missed!
The furniture tried to spice up their menu by adding Jerk chicken and rice and peas, as an item in their cafeteria. Well after this picture of the Jerk chicken went viral, you know people on Twitter we’re ready to come for IKEA’s neck.

The Caribbean dish, traditionally called rice and peas, consists of long grain rice, kidney beans and coconut milk. However, IKEA’s version only had white rice literally with green peas.
Since then, the furniture store chain has issued an apology.
“Our intention was to create a dish for many people to enjoy but we appreciate that we may have got it wrong. We apologise and we are now relooking at the dish.”
