The 2020 presidential race has already turned out to be a whirlwind. With a bunch of democratic candidates stepping up to compete against Donald Trump, it’s been a bit of a frenzy.
However, Kamala Harris made an announcement, Monday, that some may say is the biggest surprise of the race thus far.
Closing in on the preliminary elections, Senator Kamala announced that she will unfortunately not be continuing with her campaign.
Although, many people did see Kamala Harris as a candidate to give Trump a challenge, the senator was unable to acquire the financial backing needed to continue.
She released a statement saying, “I’ve taken stock and looked at this from every angle, and over the last few days have come to one of the hardest decisions of my life. My campaign for president simply doesn’t have the financial resources we need to continue .”
However, she did have something special to say, via social media, to those who supported her. “To my supporters, it is with deep regret—but also with deep gratitude—that I am suspending my campaign today.
But I want to be clear with you: I will keep fighting every day for what this campaign has been about. Justice for the People. All the people.”
