Trump Suspends United States Immigration For 60 Days

On Tuesday, Trump announced that he and his administration are in the process of carrying out a 60 day suspension of U.S. immigration.
The suspension would temporarily block any entry by green card recipients seeking permanent residency.
During the White House briefing, Trump proclaimed the pause on immigration is to help protect Americans. He said, “we’ll help put unemployed Americans first in like for jobs. It would ne wrong and unjust for Americans laid off by the virus to be replaced with new immigrant labor flown in from abroad.”
Trump did also say that the order would be re-evaluated after the 60 days have passed and can then be modified to “based on economic conditions.”
