‘Dope’ Actor Shameik Moore Receives Backlash For Saying Rosa Parks ‘Should Have Taken A Cab’

Shameik Moore has starred in movies the culture loves, like Dope, The Get Down, and more.
However, it looks like he’s digging himself a huge hole when it comes to #BlackTwitter.
On Thursday, Shameik started the day by making questionable remarks about the black community no longer being able to blame racism for the cause of police brutality. Of course with the death of George Floyd, tensions are high especially when it comes to the topic of police brutality.
Shameik’s remarks had #BlackTwitter ready to come at his neck until he issued an apology later on in the day.
However it seems like he was on a roll, because he kept his argument going. This time though, the Dope star had some words to say on Instagram Live about civil rights figure Rosa Parks.
Initially, Moore defended his previous comments saying they were “taken out of context.” He then went on to say: “Rosa Parks, sitting at the front of the bus, right? What we don’t know as a black community is, [there was] black-owned taxi cabs and black buses that could have been used during that time. This is something a lot of people might not want to hear.”
Now if that sounds to crazy to believe, check his rant out for yourself below.
