On Sunday, A white police officer in Kenosha, Wisconsin opened fire on an unarmed Black man who was simply walking away from him. The officer shot him point-blank seven times and now a video of the crucial 20 seconds leading up to the incident has gone viral.
The officer-involved shooting took place near 40th and 28th Avenue, where witnesses say the victim was attempting to break up a fight when cops arrived on the scene. It’s still unclear exactly how things escalated front there, but the man has been reported to be in critical condition.
Since news of the shooting broke, protests have been growing by the minute. Many protestors are demanding the officer involved be swiftly arrested.
