On Easter Sunday, The Weeknd decided to show his giving side. The singer announced he is donating $1 million to help feed citizens of the Tigray region in Ethiopia.
The Weeknd’s donation will provide the people of this area with 2 million meals.
The singer is doing this in partnership with the United Nations Food Programme. The organization says it need $170 million in order to feed the citizens for 6 months. Due to conflicts between the government and regional forces, Tigray has been in civil unrest since November.
