Wake County Public Health Issues Rabies Notice in Raleigh

A rabies notice has been issued, by Wake County Public Health, after a rabid fox bit a 4-year-old girl in  Raleigh.

The incident took place over the weekend while the little girl was outside a home in the 4000 block of Spiedie Court, near the intersection of Western Blvd. and I-440.
The fox later tested positive for rabies and was euthanized.
Authorities are urging anyone in the area of the incident, who may have encountered the fox, to call the Wake County Communicable Disease line at 919-250-4462. They are also prompting you and your pets to seek medical care if  bitten or scratched.
